However, we also need to place our focus close to home. Decisions made by our Magistrate Court directly affect all of us. Judge John Halvorson has spent his adult life working for criminal justice—as a police officer, and as Compliance Officer for Chaves County Detention, overseeing Court Services and Offender Supervision. He has spent the last 30 years working directly with the Magistrate Court. That experience gave him a unique understanding of the law and judicial system—credentials lacking in any other candidate.
